7 Black Ulzzang Tips

Hello cuties! (灬♥ω♥灬) Today I'm going to give you some tips on how to achieve the perfect "ulzzang" look. With time this term has changed its meaning when it comes to western people into it and it has also become dangerous. Why? Because too many people make the mistake of becoming obsessed with East Asian people and their features and end up fetishizing them and yellowfacing and that's a double no no!!
So how can you achieve the perfect ulzzang look?

1. Let's call it Korean style makeup, there's absolutely no problem with following international fashion and makeup trends so don't worry.

2.  Adapt the liner to your own eye shape, do not attempt to alter your eye shape in any way with makeup to "look asian", that's yellowface and it's not only disrespectful, racist and ugly but absolutely ridiculous and doesn't look good. Follow the natural lines of your eye, you can rock a puppy eye look without taking it to another level.

3. Gradient lips and straight eyebrows are completely fine.

4. It's okay to look at pictures of Asian ulzzangs but for inspiration the best thing to do is to google black ulzzang and get inspiration from people who actually look like you. This also helps because you will be following "the black way of doing it", that sounds weird but you know what I mean (I hope).

5. Experiment. There isn't one correct way, don't lock yourself in a bubble and limit yourself to the same boring gradient lips, puppy eyes, straight brows... Korean makeup trends have moved on from that, feel free to experiment with super glossy lips, bold lips, a cat liner, etc. Go from natural looking almost "no makeup makeup" to something more daring.

6. Don't limit yourself to the typical black hair and bangs "but, Ana, you're wearing them in the pictures above!" yepp! but I do not limit myself!

7. Mix and match. Don't be afraid of mixing Korean style makeup with other styles! That's how I created my own. Why stick to one? Maybe because it's your favorite but you'll see how fun it is and how you'll end up with some BOMB.ASS.MAKEUP

With this post I end up encouraging you to try different things and not to stick to the look that can easily become yellowface. Don't be afraid to rock your Korean style makeup and always remember the boundaries ♡♡♡ I've personally made a lot of mistakes while following these trends in the past and I would like to be helpful to the people interested.

VEATITUDO: A photography exhibition dedicated to Kim Taehyung

Hello cuties!! Wow, it's been a long long time since I last blogged...
I've been dealing with a lot and I'm actually considering adding the subject of mental health to my blog but I'm still hesitating because even though I want to keep it personal I feel like it could be way TOO PERSONAL, if you know what  I mean...
Anyways, that's not what this post is about! I'm here to talk about the time earlier this month that I attended a photography exhibition for Kim Tahyung's (BTS V) Velicitas fansite. I never knew such thing existed but I found out because she (Velicitas) mentioned it on Twitter and, well, why not spend 5000KRW to stare at pictures of Taehyung? Ahahaha
This is also my first time talking about anything kpop related here!

So at the entrance I got a stamp on my hand which said "태형이"(tae-hyung-i) and which I couldn't photograph because I accidentally blurred before it dried... (っ- ‸ – ς) and I got a free pocket mirror, a sticker and an A4 poster.

The pictures were displayed as a timeline from 2013 to 2016 in which you can see Taehyung's growth and always his cheerful goofy and innocent smile or moments in which he looks extremely serious and oh so handsome.

This event was also part of V's birthday project so even though his birthday isn't until the 30th there were balloons and a Happy Birthday corner.

For my surprise there was also a table with a cute mail box, pens and a bunch of blank post cards meant for fans attending the event to write a lovely happy birthday card for Tae which would be delivered later.

Finally there was a small booth selling photo cards, polaroids and other goodies all photographed by the lovely Velicitas. I couldn't spend much but I left very satisfied with my polaroid set ٩(♡ε♡ )۶

It was a great experience, the ambience was great, the BTS background music lightened up the mood even more (in an already lit mood as expected from a room where you're surrounded by Tae's happy face ahahah), I loved how people would sing along to random lines and it made me feel so comfortable.
I wish I had been there with a friend to share such a lovely moment...

Congratulations to Velicitas on your first exhibition and thank you for your hard work!

You can find Velicitas' twitter here.
Feel free to ask any questions and I'm also open for suggestions!

Trying out AprilSkin's Magic Stone

Hello cuties!! ヽ(´ω`○)ノ.+゚*。:゚+
I've been seeing AprilSkin's Magic Stone all over my timeline, the hype in Korea has been real so I couldn't wait to try it out myself!
Before doing a proper review I'm going to try it out for a month so stay alert to this blog post because I will be updating it and adding progress pictures!
This soap is supposed to act not only as a deep cleanser but also as a nourisher and to even out the skin. My skin isn't in a very bad state right now but I do have some ugly spots due to squeezing pimples (that's a NO, I know ㅠㅠ it's stronger than me...).

DAY 1: Here's a raw picture after the very first use.
I took some scary closeups that I will add to this post once this trial month passes! σ(≧ε≦o)

It really does look like a stone, it's so pretty~ and it smells nice~

There's also a black Magic Stone which I decided
not to buy until I was sure I liked the Original one~!

EDIT: I have failed miserably since the antibiotics caused a major breakout and it pretty much ruined my plans for this. Anyways, once I get better I will try out the stone again and give you a proper review since I'm not able to do so right now.

LIFE POST: My natural hair experience so far

Hello everyone! ^^
So I decided to go natural 9 months ago. For the ones who don't know what this means, it means I stopped perming my hair. My mom relaxed my hair when I was very little because my hair didn't turn out like hers >.> and she thought it looked bad (society's standard of beauty...) and was difficult to manage. Her hair type is 3B I guess. So she kept relaxing it all these years and after I moved out I kept on relaxing it myself because that's what I was used to. Being 22 years old I had no idea what my real hair texture looked like.
I had been seeing so many people transitioning or with already natural hair and I thought they looked beautiful but I was so used to having my hair straight that I thought there was absolutely no way I would look good. I was also scared of cutting my hair. After a year of horrible heat damage and breakage done at the chinese salon I used to go (they did my hair sooo straight and it felt so smooth and silky but they also ruined it little by little) I decided it was going to be the last time in a long long time that I was going to use any chemicals to straighten my hair or use direct heat. The first months were very easy and I started to do simple protective styles and buns but now I have no idea what to do with my hair because it has grown about 8cm and I have these 8cm thick, beautiful and strong curls (that I'm seeing for the first time in my life and that I'm in LOVE with) that then end this thin shitty (sorry) damaged relaxed hair. You must be thinking "well, why don't you cut it all off?" and the answer is I wasn't ready... I have scheduled my big chop for when I reach my 10 month mark, I'm excited but scared at the same time and I think I'm ready because it's growing fast and healthy and I can't wait to get rid of the relaxed ends. I can't even do my hair anymore, if I put my hair in a bun or ponytail it looks like a puffy head ending in super thin hair... I don't wear my hair out anymore because I feel so self conscious about it and I have to go out with a wig, I will finally set it free when I cut it!

I think going natural has been one of the best decisions I have ever made about myself. It feels so good and empowering, I'm no longer afraid of my BLACK GIRL HAIR, I'm no longer ashamed.
Changes I've experienced so far:
My hair sheds and breaks less
It's growing strong and healthy instead of thin and lifeless
It tangles more so I have to be patient but at least there is no more breakage

I will post pictures once I reach my 10 month mark, feel free to give me advice or share your newbie experiences with me ^^

Affording circle lenses~

Hello cuties! I know many people struggle because they love circle lenses but can't afford them so I hope these simple ideas are a little of help~ Circle lenses are very important to some of us and I know how terrible I would feel if I couldn't afford them again.
Try subscribing to online stores so you will get notified of any event and discount. Stay alert especially during holidays. On Pinky Paradise, for example, the biggest sale is on Halloween (50%discount) but they have many other discounts throughout the year.
What you can do during sale times is to buy as many as you can afford and just store them for when the ones you're currently using expire. Remember they usually last for a year or 6 months well kept (circle lens safety tips) and remember the time starts counting from the moment you open them so you can perfectly keep them stored sealed until you need them.
Many times we tend to buy unnecessary snacks or things we end up buying because they're "cheap" but think about whether or not you really need those because maybe after a month you will be able to afford lenses! Spend carefully, this can be helpful with anything and not just buying circle lenses.
You can easily find a way to afford circle lenses once or twice A YEAR ^^

O-Lens Review! G&G GBT French 3 color Gray 프렌치 3칼라 그레이

How's everyone?? Happy new year! Haven't posted in two months but make sure you join me on Facebook for more frequent updates~
Today I'm going to review a store called O-lens as well as my most recent purchase (・ω<)

It's a physical store in South Korea with also an online store which unfortunately is completely in Korean. If you come to Korea and you're looking for circle lenses you will be well treated here. I love it because I had never had the experience of buying circle lenses at physical stores before. They have artificial eye models so that you can choose your eye color + the color lens that you want and see how it would look in your own eyes! You can also get your eyes checked for free to see if you will need prescription lens or not. The staff is usually very friendly but make sure you go with a Korean friend if you don't speak Korean so you get the full service instead of being rushed because they can't speak English well.
The store usually has pretty cool discounts and even 1+1 events and the prices vary from KRW10,000 to KRW50000.
You always get free lens cases + free lens case case (ahaha) + multi-purpose solution! Yay for free stuff (ΦωΦ)
You can check their catalog on-line and get them on-line or just so you don't need to spend so much time deciding what to get. In my case, last time I browsed their grey lenses page, looked at the customer pictures and reviews and chose my favorite, then I went to the store and simply showed them the page on my phone. You can either do that or write down the information but that's quicker.
If you're in Korea just type 오렌즈 in your map app (다음 지도 may be the best app, Google maps kinda sucks in Korea) and you'll see the closest store to you, there are so many so you don't need to travel to the end of the world.

Now about the lenses that I got! The brand is G&G and you can buy them on Pinky Paradise as well.
Colour: 5/5
Enlargement: 5/5
Comfort: 5/5
Naturalness: 5/5
Overall: 5/5

G&G has NEVER disappointed me!

Stunning! I didn't know what to expect because these are my very first grey lenses ^^ I think I made the absolute right choice when I selected these ones because the yellow blends sooo well with the grey and makes them look even more natural. I kept staring at my eyes very closely in the mirror and all I can say is that they look pretty natural, no obvious lines or pixelated effect.

Super comfortable and soft! I don't even notice I'm wearing them unless I've been wearing them for hours and my eyes are dry, they're very very comfy!
Lenses should NEVER feel uncomfortable so make sure they're in perfect state before wearing them. Check out my post about safety tips and mistakes.
Magical? Mesmerizing? Dreamy? Mysterious? I don't know how to describe these lenses, they're just amazing. I'm in love. I was so sad that my green lenses got damaged and I wanted to try a new colour but now I don't even care anymore ahaha I'm just so happy with my new lenses =^∇^*=And they're pretty good for either cosplay or just fashion!
Let me know what you think ^^ I hope I gave you a nice idea for your future purchases~

I hope you enjoyed this review, if you have any questions feel free to ask through here or my tumblr inbox which I check more often actually ^__^
♥︎See you next time sweetie pies, stay cute and fabulous♥︎
